Hey IP,
I cant help you but feel your pain.
I have notices here at my work that when my sys admin changes anything with
our exchange server that my whole set up falls apart.
Sorry I cant advise anything but want you to know that I empathize with you!
Good Luck!

This bug is almost three years old and still occurs (Ubuntu 8.10 and Evolution 2.24.2) I've read lots of suggestions to delete certain exchange files in ~/.evolution as a workaround... but seriously, WHY is the fix a workaround after three years?

Very disappointing, since Evolution is the default mail client in the Ubuntu distros. How can I recommened Ubuntu to co-workers if major default packages have three-year-old FATAL bugs?

If development on Evolution has been deprecated, maybe it should not be included in the next Ubuntu distro.

The alternatives are a) use other clients (Kontact and Lightning/Thunderbird are often mentioned), b) perform some hacky workaround by deleting files or c) fix the problem.

I know which one I vote for.

Despite all of the updates I cant get it to be stable for an extended period of time. I log out, log in, pray, kick and even bribe Evolution to work... nothing does quite yet. I first posted over a year ago. Seriously Ubuntu, Evolution, Linux as an operating system: this needs to work.

I wish I were more technical. Bug reporting is the most I can do. Anyways, I did want to come back and mention that I still get the same error message.

Can you help with this problem?
