I have tried to send you the original but it crashes/freezes Firefox too, this is what SaveAs did for me with Kate. I have tried to delete the offending file using all the suggested delete methods, but it just freezes/crashes. I have to use Force Quit quickly to make it stop or it will freeze/crash my whole desktop. It is unusable in it's present state, as I can not send any emails. There is an email stuck in my outbox with a large attachment that Evolution couldn't send as it was too big, but it will not let me delete it either. All delete methods make it freeze. I need this fixed ASAP!!!! Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!!

I have tried to reinstall it, but it didn't work. Also, I have looked for the config files for Evolution to see it there was something in there that I could use to clear the outbox, but I could not find it. I am using Evolution 2.10.1.

It's difficult to figure out what went wrong.
What options do you have?

1. You can open GNOME Terminal (Applications/Accessories/Terminal) and type

$ export CAMEL_DEBUG=all
$ evolution (make sure that evolution is closed)

Here it will show you many debug information and it might be possible to figure out at which stage Evolution Mail crashes.

2. When evolution crashes and you want to restart, it is better to run

$ evolution --force-shutdown

This will close any other instances of evolution (such as calendar) that might be already running, and which may interfere with debugging.

3. Start evolution in Offline mode (does not require Internet connection). In this way it might work, so you can figure out what is going on. You can then switch to online mode from File/Work Online.

$ evolution --offline

4. Check existing reports at Evolution Bug reports, and find one that matches your case.

PS. This is what showed up the first time also, but Terminal would not let me copy it to send to you so I had to use Konsole to copy it to you. The first time being $ export CAMEL_DEBUG=all
$ evolution, and then I tried to delete the Outbox file.

Oh, you have a large attachment problem that fails when you have preview enabled by default.
