can receive gmail in evolution but can't send

receive gmail in evolution but when I try to send i get and error

Error while performing operation.

Host lookup failed: <email address hidden>: Name or service not known

Host lookup failed: <email address hidden>: Name or service not known

I have set up everything as per recommendations and have retried. any ideas?

SMTP
smtp.gmail.com
Authentication required
SSL
Type: clear (I have french IHM, don't know english label)

And today...it works.

Your outgoing server in evolution should be:

smtp.gmail.com

You cannot attach any image to launchpad so provide a online link with your error image...
i suggest you http://www.imageshack.us/

But if is not a very long and complex error please simply copy and paste or write the error message text
