Don' know how to upload pics from Shotwell folder to e-mail.

Asked by Barbara Stakk

Please help! I don't know the steps to upload my pics from my shotwell folder to my e-mails. I placed the digital camera's chip into my computer and nothing happens--I need simple, clear, step by step directions of what to do after the chip is in my computer and upload to my e-mail. Is this more complicated to do than when I had Window's7 and now I have Unix?? I tremendously appreciate you help..Happy & Healthy New Year to you all out there in Cyber Space! Barbara

to get your photos into shotwell
im assuming your computer is mounting and you can access your photos when you insert the memory card into your computer.

click in shotwell from th top menu bar
file - import folder --- and find and select your photos to import into shotwell.

to insert photos into an email depends on what email client you are using. Are you using evolution or thunderbird? In thunderbird you should be able to Select Insert | Image from the menu.
Use the Choose File... selector to locate and open the desired graphic.

if you right click the photo in show well and select show in file manager you can get your location of your photos if you are unsure.

this may be helpful for uploading to shotwell from your camera
http://yorba.org/shotwell/help/import-camera.html

also, it appears the send to feature in shotwell is not working properly in Ubuntu 11.10
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shotwell/+bug/887357

they state
"This is a known bug which we've fixed for the upcoming 0.12 release."

well it is too late to change that up load from my camera and I don't think this is the case because 40 pictures disappeared and every time I worked on them someone was all over them pointing out the bad pictures or stealing the photos I was working on and then they would reappear all blurry etc...NO sorry but I have a hacker on this thing remotely that knows how to work things on here .....because every time I go to those photos they won't let me even work on the ones that got downloaded on my F spot photo manager I literally have had to take a picture with my camera...and the ones on my F spot are downloaded into Jpegs already.....so that explanation won't slide on my end....40 pictures don't disappear and then one of them was actually put on facebook in place of another that I was putting on that was actually a better photo...from the ones that were taken...SO if you can tell me how to deal with an obsessed HACKER who has remote on here you can
 probably solve my problem....
known or unknown issues...because it is not resonating here with me in any way...when I downloaded another batch the hacker was all over them too trying to prevent me from working with them too...........this scum is on my yahoo account every day and also facebook actually pasting and cutting my photos....so if you in LA and you know someone who could help me resolve this that would be fantastic! Thanks!!!!!

PEACE LOVE JOY
