Does anyone know how to delete chat history in Empathy 2.5, especially when clients entrust us with privacy-and-security information? This is a huge breach of privacy, guys. HELP???

if u use empathy 2.30.2

go to terminal and do as mentioned

1) CD ~/.local/share/Empathy/logs

2) rm -fr ~/.local/share/Empathy/logs

if u use Empathy 2.26.1

1) cd ~/.gnome2/Empathy/logs

2) rm -fr ~/.gnome2/Empathy/logs

Hi All,

This is my first post on the site, but just have a small amendment to the above suggestion that worked for me ...

When you are in the directory for the logs (for me, this was ~/.local/share/Empathy/logs on 2.30.2), for some strange reason, running rm -fr on the logs folder wasn't enough to flush the conversations.

To remove all history, I did the following: sudo rm -Rfv logs

This recursively removed all the folders inside the logs directory and now my conversation history is clean.

I'd be very interested to know if anyone is able to make use of my first post here!

Happy Ubuntu,
Nick
