Is it possible to import new photos only

Asked by fred

If you have a number of pictures on your camera card and are not ready to delete them, is it possible to import only the new photos...the ones that have not been imported already without having to manually select them, which assumes that you know which images are actually the new ones?

Under windows, using canon software, the program kept track of photos already downloaded. Is there such a setting in Digikam that I am missing?

I did build the database and create fingerprints, but don't know where to go from here.

I am new to Ubuntu and Digikam.

I use Picasa. It has an option not to download duplicates.

I am pretty sure that Ubuntu's photo management software, F-Spot also
has removing duplicates options.
