Déjà Dup

can I use this from the command line?

I'd like to run command line s3 backups from a headless virtual server. I'm hoping the simplicity of this application is carried over to the command line... At the moment, I'm using sbackup ssh to another server, but the s3 plugin is priceless.

Your more likely to get an answer with something that is more uncommon like this.

Typically i would say that it does have a command line method to do the operations. I would try to look at what the .desktop file in the menu runs than run a man command on that app in a terminal and see what you can find.

Hello! I happened across this question. I'm the upstream developer for deja-dup, and no, there isn't much command-line control for deja-dup. Run 'man deja-dup' for the options.

*However*, deja-dup is just a fancy GUI wrapper around the command line tool duplicity (http://duplicity.nongnu.org/) which is probably what you're looking for.

You should also have a look at s3sync (http://s3sync.net/wiki) it is a rsync version for Amazon S3.
