In case CCSM is installed, there is a 'place' plugin where one can opt how windows should be placed. Maybe check that 'random' isn't selected, rather try 'smart' or 'centered'.

Yep, 11.04, Unity and compiz cube, no such issue, unable to reproduce.
Only diff there is no 'wall' plugin enabled (conflicts with cube), but still can initiate it with super+w though.
And no mint theme.
Graphic card and driver is radeon.
I'd suspect some compiz plugin conflict.

Is it a multiple screen setup?

Anyway, if it can be reproduced consider to report a bug.

## Single monitor.
e.g. system log viewer opens full screen, minimize with alt+f9, click small arrow in launcher beside the icon brings it up to full screen again.
e.g.
Firefox, full screen, resize with alt+f5, minimize with alt+f9, click on small arrow beside FF icon in launcher brings it up as it was before minimizing.

If you do end up reporting a bug, I recommend reading https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs carefully first if you have not done so already.

Eliah, thanks. The reason I didn't post the link was because I've posted it already on another question (159496) from vishal.

vishal,
yep, maybe it's the 'wall' plugin, but could be also some other plugin conflict while 'wall' is enabled.
Again, before reporting a bug try websearch if someone has the same issue, e.g.
http://askubuntu.com/search?q=untiy+window+position

Unity depends on 'wall', Unity is also Compiz plugin, Compiz is the window manager, so I'd guess reporting a bug against Compiz would be ok. In case developers have a different view they'll correct it anyway.

Actually no that didn't solve my problem actually i when i enables rotate cube it disable move windows plugin so it just sticked there i'll be filing a bug and it's not mint theme as i've experienced problem before having applied theme btw its just icon set and it's not multiple screen my graphic card is intel onboard i don't think it's related to that it might be compiz plugin conflict but i can't really figure out thnks .

If 'automated plugin sorting' isn't disabled it'll introduce conflicts, this is why 'automated plugin sorting' is enabled to avoid such. The trick is to disable and after edit enabling it again.
Unity needs 'wall' and 'static application switcher', Cube has beside 'rotate', 'application switcher', 'shift switcher' and 'ring switcher' enabled. Basic differences, but simple to workaround, one needs to decide whether to favour wall or cube, each one of them depends on different plugins.
Commented there.

I think that's to risky since it's highly customized with opacity (transparent), window size rules, 16 virtual desktops and mouse focus without click and so forth.
Also the background images wouldn't match on cube and cube caps.
It's actually similar with conky files, where each user has a very different setup.
btw. CCSM -> settings has options to backup a customized .profile, which can be saved with defaults and ignoring defaults.

Can you help with this problem?
