Compiz seems to have a memory leak

Asked by bayo opadeyi

When I reboot ubuntu 11.04, compiz uses about 25MB of memory (seen in system monitor).
After a few hours, it jumps to using about 400MB,
Right now (after a suspend for the night) it is at 700MB
I have seen it go up to 1.3GB
I don't know if anyone else has experienced this problem

I did a X -showconfig and got this
bayo@bayo-neXt:~/code/curator$ X -showconfig

Thanks.
I stopped indicator-multiload. compiz seems to be behaving better (though I
haven't observed it for very long yet).

If you find that indicator-multiload appears to have been the culprit, then I recommend you take a look at bug 779717 (if you haven't already), which is linked-to in bug 720446. Assuming what's written at bug 779717 is consistent with your experiences, I recommend you indicate you're affected by that bug (with the green "This bug affects..." link near the top of the bug page) and subscribe to that bug (and also post a comment in it, if you have information to contribute).
