Copies just fine from burner to burner, but refuses to use reader & burner together.
Will try switching master<->slave installation.

Hi,

This looks similar to bug #373591 and bug #354995 (which are duplicates, but the description is better in the duplicate). See also question https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/brasero/+question/70367. The bug is known, and hopefully will be fixed in a future release.

Switching cables and hardware made the situation worse. Now the software refuses to recognize data on the source disc, even though it is clearly accessible through the OS. Tried to replace the drives with others, but the situation persists.

Installed K3b and all works well. Even direct on-the-fly copies.

Just before you burn, click properties at the final dialogue, You can disable create image and other such goodies. I cant remember the exact settings and I cant replicate as I have no blank media which brasero is now expecting and refuses to act otherwise.

Can you help with this problem?
