Any way to burn a 106-minute audio mp3 file onto a CD?

Asked by Harold Lewis

Have downloaded a BBC Radio podcast as an mp3 file: 51mb and 1hr 46min long . Brasero tells me it's too long for conventional CD and Brasero won't burn it onto a DVD. Any suggestions?

A standard CD will hold 70 mins of audio. You could burn it to a CD as data. It depends what you intend to play it in and what capabilities it has.

If Brasero will not burn a DVD, try Xfburn, it gets better reviews.

Many thanks for this. Hasn't worked as a CD but I used Brasero to burn
a DVD as data. It worked. Listening to it now. Will try a CD again but
fear the Ihr 42 mins will be too much for it. As BBC mp3 podcast it
seems to be recorded as one track only. But as DVD it's a very
acceptable second-best. Thanks again.

Many thanks, Michael. Managed to burn a data DVD on Brasero after all -
and it worked. Rhythmbox playing it now. Thanks again.

Brasero hasn't (so far) managed to burn a CD as data but still trying. Ihr42min BBC mp3 podcast may be beyond CD limits. BUT Brasero did burna data DVD and Rhythmbox playing it now. So success even if a CD would have been my preferred option. Thanks to all. Harold

Brasero has now burned a data CD that plays fine on Rhythmbox but doesn't work on my Philips mini-music centre, which can't apparently get beyond the title! Maybe that's the best a modest conventional CD player will ever do with it. Never mind. Rhythmbox will serve me well enough.

Thanks again to all contributors,

Harold
