Can't get my bluetooth to send or find any devices

Asked by Nackerman44

I was trying to get my computer and Sony Ericsson W760a phone to pair but neither my computer or phone can seem to find each other. I have installed gnome-bluetooth and there is an icon for bluetooth in the upper right corner of my screen but it can not find my phone.
Can someone help me figure this out????

Thanks,
    Nick

first find out whether ur blutooth dongle is working properly. and ur phone as well, if yes then do the following:
right click on the blueproximity icon at the top right-----go to preferences---- perform scan for devices after switching on ur phone bluetooth and keep ur phone close to ur dongle----- after ur phone is shown click 'use selected device'------then right click ur bluetooth dongle icon at top right---------- go to browse or send file to device option.

HOPE THIS WORKS!!! IF NOT, REPLY AGAIN TO ME. BEST OF LUCK.

I have tried this already and it doesn't work. I know that my bluetooth works because my mouse and keyboard are both bluetooth and I have no problems running them. But it still does not see my phone.

Thanks,
