update from 20.04 to 22.04 (jellyfish) returns 'unable to updaate snap has no updates availiable' + something about update package incomplete or unavailable.

I get invited to update, but then I get return ' unable to update. 22.04 snap has no updates available'
am trying to update from 20.04 to 22.04 & I also got a message that the install pkg is missing or incomplete

password could not be typed in, none were accepted

Terminal[ctl+alt+t]
killall snap-store
sudo snap refresh

After the refresh has completed.
sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade

reboot

Bernard,
Thank you for your prompt and helpful reply. I appreciate the terminal commands and that method of operating and modifying its performance, but I'm so busy with other work that I almost never get to play with the Terminal, but I like what I see. Everything you suggested seemed to work smoothly and it may be all fixed. I did get most of the problems solved and new software was downloaded successfully and quickly. I haven't had the invitation to upgrade to 22.04 from 20.04 yet, so that will be the final proof.

If you have a way to request this upgrade, I would appreciate seeing it. One of my computers has it, but this one doesn't. I like to keeep them in sync
