How to uninstall third-party software

Asked by Pete Dela Cruz

I installed ifreebudget then realized I don't like it. I tried to uninstall it via the add/remove program but couldn't find it anywhere. I found the installation directory but could not delete it. There must be an easy way to remove third party softwares that you no longer need. Please help.

thank you.

that really depends on how you installed it. if you installed a .deb file from the official ifreebudget website, you can probably remove it using Synaptic (System/Administration/Synaptic).

sudo apt-get purge ifreebudget

the system ask you a password give your user password, you will not see nothing when you type it, then press enter.
