I got "unknown media type" during upgrade

Asked by Uqbar

I run Ubuntu 8.10.
During my last upgrades I'm getting these warning/error messages:

Unknown media type in type 'all/all'

Unknown media type in type 'all/allfiles'

Unknown media type in type 'uri/mms'

Unknown media type in type 'uri/mmst'

Unknown media type in type 'uri/mmsu'

Unknown media type in type 'uri/pnm'

Unknown media type in type 'uri/rtspt'

Unknown media type in type 'uri/rtspu'

Unknown media type in type 'fonts/package'

Unknown media type in type 'interface/x-winamp-skin'

Should I take any action?
If so, which ones?
Thanks.

What'd be the meaning?

Most probably you have some package installed, that is providing some not officialy registered mime-types. It might be chemical-mime-data

Hi,
maybe you had Winamp running through Wine or Virtualbox? It's an app for M$ systems.

No Winamp.
I have Wine installed, but not used at the moment.
And I don't have any chemistry related software.
Is there a way to know which package introduced those MIME types?

Yes!
I used to have somehow some KDE related library installed.
I've purged them and those annoying messages disappeared.
