http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/lucid/ Is Missing

Asked by Aaron Bailey

Simple issue. I have a install package for Nagios monitoring on remote servers that attempts to get "http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/lucid/main/binary-i386/Packages.gz" but its just gone. I browsed to the URL in a web browser and I can get down to /ubuntu/dists/ but the directory "lucid" does not appear.
Does someone know why this directory is missing, when it will return (if ever), and/or other places to get the file I need?

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases
Support for Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx has ended a year ago, and the repositories have been removed.

You should upgrade to a supported release.

I suggest you wipe Lucid off the system and do a clean install of Xenial. Xenial is LTS and supported til April 2021.
