failure to download repository information

Asked by Laith

I am getting a "failed to download repository information" notice whenever I try to download or update software. I've tried all of the troubleshooting procedures I could find, but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks.

Comment out line 45 and 46 in /etc/apt/sourcrs.list and retry

Should be ok

From your output:

lj@lj-desktop:~$ dpkg --print-foreign-architectures
i386
1386

An architecture named "1386" does not exist, and this causes the error messages.

Try

sudo dpkg --remove-architecture 1386
dpkg --print-foreign-architectures
sudo apt-get update

and copy/paste all output as done before
