Failure to install QGIS - held broken packages

Asked by Josh Hatt

I previously had a working version of QGIS with OpenLayers plugin working. When I updated to the new version the OpenLayers plugin stopped working and I tried all manner of methods on the internet to get it to work. Eventually I gave up and used windows again waiting for the much anticipated release of QGIS 2. This has now come out but I cannot install a working version with OpenLayers plugin and at the moment it just stops at the error: "E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages."

Nothing seems to work to try and fix this. Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Josh

The packages are held because their dependancies are not met. The guys at qgus have set a dependancy on a package hich your OS cannot satisfy.
