Asked by Grant Phillips

Downloads the loader then gives an authentication failure message, suggesting server or connection problem.

There is definitely no internet connection problem. I can't say if there is a server problem.

It's often quicker to download the ISO and burn a CD. You can upgrade straight from the CD now.

Don't forget that 12.04 is due out in about a week. An alternative is to download 12.04 when it comes out and do a clean install (or upgrade each one until you get to 12.04) Are you upgrading from 11.04?

Thanks Chris. You are correct except I have no CD on a Voestro V131.
I was able to run the upgrade from a terminal window, and it completed OK.
Appears the delivered upgrade exe or utility or whatever it is, is trying to run the
upgrade from a sub directory and the error message did lot let me suspect that.
Was upgrading from 11.04 I think, Natty....
Am looking forward to trying the next upgrade.
