adding vendor to sources.list file

Asked by Dale Satre

I am trying to install Tor/Vidalia.

"Then add this line to your /etc/apt/sources.list file:
deb http://deb.torproject.org/torproject.org <DISTRIBUTION> main"

How do I add to my sources.list file in terminal?

I did that, added
deb http://deb.torproject.org/torproject.org maverick main
to the apt/sources.list file and saved.

I got this:

(gedit:3324): Gtk-WARNING **: Attempting to set the permissions of `/root/.local/share/recently-used.xbel', but failed: No such file or directory

(gedit:3324): Gtk-WARNING **: Attempting to store changes into `/root/.local/share/recently-used.xbel', but failed: Failed to create file '/root/.local/share/recently-used.xbel.VVPL7V': No such file or directory

I solved it, sudo-apt get vidalia.
