tzdata error when downloading software

Asked by Carl W. Entemann

I have recently downloaded and installed the 64-bit version of Ubuntu. When trying to download the Ecllipse IDE from the list of downloads I continually get an 'Installation failed' message with the following details:

Setting up tzdata (2011j-0ubuntu0.11.04) ...

dpkg: error processing tzdata (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 128

Any suggestions? Could it be, quite simply, that the Ecllipse IDE does not run on a 64-bit machine?

Sure it does, are there any bugs reported?

The only error message that I see is the following, included in the text
attached to the original request:

dpkg: error processing tzdata (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 128

Problem disappeared after loading all updates to the desktop 64-bit version of Ubunu.
