Any time I do anything I lose my headers or something else goes wrong.

Asked by BluGrl

Any time I do anything I lose my headers or something else goes wrong. How do I make this system stable for everyday personal use photos, music, documents, and those such things. This is beginning to drive me crazy. Can anyone tell me what I have to do.
Much appreciated

"headers". Please elaborate your question. And what Operating System are you using now and what is the System Configuration? And what is the issue?

Ubuntu 11.04
I have fixed he header problem again.
I wanted to know how to protect the system so I can use it. Right now every time I try anything the system gets messed up. Are there steps you should take after install to ensure the system will work properly?

Do you want to express that you frequently get the "no Package: header" error messages?

If that is the case the steps for quick repair are shown in https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+faq/1591
and the long time solution is to install the updated apt version from natty-proposed.
see bug #346386 and especially https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt/+bug/346386/comments/41
