mouse & keyboard problem in 10.04 LTS

last week i installed ubuntu 10.04 LTS from CD

till monday it was working 5n.

i clicked on update manager by system - administration - update manager

it give me list of 280 updates

i clicked install updates.
it was download update.

den my frnd accidently cancel update and den shut down pc.

on next day i started pc, i noticed dat my mouse not moving.

i have windows as wll as other OS.
mouse works 5n xp SP 2.

what to do to make movable in 10.04 ?

Can you please use full english words. You are not charged by the letter on here so using:

5n
den
dat

and other such nonsense is not only EXTREMELY immature but may also confuse users seeking help on a similar issue if English is not their first language, so please, do everybody a favour and don't bother next time.

If you reboot the system and hold shift, select recovery mode and then select root, you will drop to a root console. You can now run:

apt-get -f install

And the packages which were stopped will continue to install. You can then reboot by running:

reboot

then boot as normal. Does this help

when dual boot option came,
i pressed e to edit

den i went to command line

i tried to type

grub>apt-get -f install

den it says unknown command apt-get

what to do?
give me step by step solution.
