can't install software

when i try to install software, including missing plugin, i get an error message saying that "failed to download repository information. Please check your internet connection ". However my internet connection works just fine. PLEASE HELP

For plugins, it gives an error message saying that "could not find package 'flash plugin installer'" I'm getting pissed off.

Can you give the output of:

sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get -y upgrade

In update-manager, you could try to change for another server. Perhaps the server is unresponsiveness.
But before try actionparsnip command, and report error messages.
