You may need to download the deb files for each of the things causing errors and force install it. You can then remove the openoffice and reinstall it

I have no idea what that might entail.

My suggestion:

go to https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/karmic/+package/openoffice.org-core
click in the openoffice.org-core 1:3.1.1-5ubuntu1.2 line appropriate for your system,
from the page that opens download the .deb file to your system and try to manually install it.

After that execute the commands
sudo dpkg --configure -a
and
sudo apt-get -f install

If you then see several lines about python-uno try the same with
python-uno 1:3.1.1-5ubuntu1.2
from page https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/karmic/+package/python-uno

and then
sudo dpkg --configure -a
sudo apt-get -f install

Can you help with this problem?
