Failure to setup freenx-team ppa gpg repository key

Asked by irishnme

I getting a persistent connection failure to server keyserver.ubuntu.com. Is there an alternative server I can use or an alternative method I can use to install FreeNX server? I'm running 10.04.

Error output:
sumdev@vm-sumdev:~/appliance$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:freenx-team/ppa
Executing: gpg --ignore-time-conflict --no-options --no-default-keyring --secret-keyring /etc/apt/secring.gpg --trustdb-name /etc/apt/trustdb.gpg --keyring /etc/apt/trusted.gpg --primary-keyring /etc/apt/trusted.gpg --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv F3A662B57D580D3A2E98E5152A8E3034D018A4CE

sounds like the keyserver was busy, try again and again, until it works. You are using the right command.

Looks like it could be a firewall issue. Found this thread.

I'm going to see if I can get port 11371 open for server keyserver.ubuntu.com through our firewall.

This is also a problem for me. Here is what I get

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:freenx-team

Executing: gpg --ignore-time-conflict --no-options --no-default-keyring --secret-keyring /etc/apt/secring.gpg --trustdb-name /etc/apt/trustdb.gpg --keyring /etc/apt/trusted.gpg --primary-keyring /etc/apt/trusted.gpg --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv F3A662B57D580D3A2E98E5152A8E3034D018A4CE
gpg: requesting key D018A4CE from hkp server keyserver.ubuntu.com
gpgkeys: HTTP fetch error 7: couldn't connect to host
gpg: no valid OpenPGP data found.
gpg: Total number processed: 0

And, I'm certain that this is NOT a firewall issue for me. I've run and rerun the command at least a dozen times with the same result. Could the server be down?

Can you help with this problem?
