Open Terminal window: Accessories->Terminal : Update your repository first by issuing the command below on the Terminal:

sudo apt-get update

and, install the Amarok application with:

sudo apt-get install amarok

After a successful installation, open Amarok by navigating Sound & Video -> Amarok

One difference between (K)Ubuntu and Ubuntu is the desktop environment they are operating on. (K)Ubuntu uses KDE and Ubuntu uses GNOME.

For other variants:

(X)Ubuntu uses XFCE
(L)Ubuntu uses LXDE
