Above is the result of command lspci -v | less. The last paragraph is my sound card and i suggest that as hardware is properly installed

Thanks Tom for your time!!! Is there someone who can tell me if its a hardware or a software problem?

Hopefully by re-posting it Mark or someone might pop in later and be able to help you with this. I would post the question in a few forums and see who gives the best answer first, then give all the rest a link to the right answer. It's a bit cheeky to do that 1st off but you have been very patient with us so it seems only fair to give yourself a good chance at getting the right answer eventually.
