Hi :)

First of all please work through this worksheet to get all your multi-media sorted out in one go
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu
i usually go with non-free rather than OpenSource and so far it hasn't cost me anything. If this doesn't sort out your sound then please try these trouble-shooting guides

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingSoundProblems

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SoundTroubleshooting

Good luck and please let us know how you get on or if you have anything that's unclear there.
Regards from
Tom :)

What I did was to follow your instructions supplied on July 19 a second time paying attention to the commands and all the different spaces as I entered them .After going through all three links supplied and their instructions I went on a downloaded sond to try it and immediately notice the button for sound had popped up ,hit it and bang the speakers were at full blast.Since I did not try after each one I cant say which one worked for sure

Lol, that's often the best way to fix something. It's not the best way to troubleshoot and doesn't give us an elegant answer but we may have solved other problems along the way too and achieved the objective faster too ;)))

Underneath where you post comments is a button saying soemthing like "Solved" or "I have found the answer or something like that. If you could click on that then it might help people in the future suffering from a similar problem :)

Nicely done :)
Congrats and regards from
Tom :)

Can you help with this problem?
