Sound settings show only dummy output

I'm trying to use the built in speakers on my Dell XPS-13. But at the moment only "dummy output" is showing in my sound settings. I know this is similar to some other questions, but I've tried loads of various solutions online and none have worked.
Currently running 18.04.02 LTS. Sound was an issue in 16.04 LTS too, though. I've attempted most steps in the Sound Troubleshoot Procedure but no luck yet.
