unable to start update manager

kernel 3.2.0-58-generic

i tried to run update manager & got the ff output:

Could not initialise the package information

An unresolvable problem occurred while initialising the package information.

Please report this bug for the 'update-manager' package and try to include the following error message:

'E:Type ‘b-src’ is not known on line 2 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntu-audio-dev-alsa-daily-precise.list'

First run this Terminal command:

sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntu-audio-dev-alsa-daily-precise.list

Then execute all the commands from step 5 in the following procedure:
