Asked by Lynne Stevens

Well Alamanah Diary had the Minus the expansion box and the X up on the menu bar . .And I clicked the expansion box while doing something else not paying Attention as to where mouse was . . NOW I can't get the Program to come back down to size . . Backed up the 6 years of data in it un-installed it and then Re installed it and it is coming up spread across the screen instead of coming up small again the - box and X are not on the top bar any more !

Same issue here on Xubuntu 20.04
Try manually editing the ~/.config/almanah/state.ini file. Make the [main-window] section look like this:

[main-window]
maximized=false
width=640
height=480
x-position=520
y-position=264
