Ubuntu 11.04 reboots on shutdown

Asked by Dennis Cummins

This is a new install on an Intel DG945GCLF ITX motherboard. This computer has been running Ubuntu 9.04 for a very long time with no problems. I have reinstalled twice and still get the same problem. On any shutdown, even from the Terminal the same thing happens. I am not deeply into the nuts and bolts of Linux but I have enjoyed having a Linux box for years. Any suggestions for a fix or maybe a suggestion for a different distro would be appreciated.

ITX form factor
Intel Atom 230 processor 1.6GHZ
Intel 945GC and ICH7 chipset
Realtek ALC662 Audio
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950

I have checked the BIOS and did not find anything that would be a problem. I disabled wake-on-lan but not change.

Thanks
Dennis

The last message was sent blank by accident!

I got called out of town and will be back on Sunday, I'll try the commands then, thanks for the replay.

Thanks for your offer to help but the problem has been resolved.

After running the Updates the problem has vanished.  I hate making assumptions but it appears one of the updates corrected the problem.

Thanks Again
