D-link modem problem.

My d-link modem ( DSL-G604T) isn't picked up by ubuntu, (which means i cant go on the internet, and since this a modem router every light comes on except the light that shows the connections between my computer and my modem).

Hello,

does your modem work on a different machine (the missing connection signal on your modem could be the result of an easy damage for example a broken lan cable).

well my machine i run XP, vista and ubuntu based of the Hard drive i put in.

it works very well when i run xp or vista but when i run ubuntu doesnt seem to allow me to go on the net.

Hello,

please check the settings of your ethernetcard in:
System->network
here if the card active?
System->network->your card->properties
here did you checked the dhcp option?
