Dual boot system

You can change the default

gksudo gedit /etc/default/grub

You can change the default number to point to the windows boot, 0 is the top item, 1 is the second and so on.

Save the new file and close gedit, then run:

sudo update-grub

This will apply the new settings. Reboot to test.

Another doubt of mine is that, later if I want to restore
my previous setup(shows the both os for selection) how can i enter grub to
change the settings .

You wont be deleting anything, you are just making grub point by default to windows. You can still choose ubuntu so no restoring is needed.

better reduce the "set timeout=10" to 1 so that your both os are visible for 2 Seconds which is not too much for you to worry so as and when you want to increase the duration just edit the timeout duration make it 10 or any value of your choice.
