How to make my Agere modem(Dax Networks) work on ubuntu?

The modem was not listed there....
Is there any other way....?

I think ubuntu is not considering the device as a modem at all....

Can you please specify the exact type of your modem so that I can do some research about it? Thanks!

The modem is listed in the device manager of windows xp as 'Agere Systems
PCI Soft Modem',
what do I do....

Is there any tools for getting exact details of modem on windows xp... since
I tried scanModem tool on ubuntu its results can't be brought here since
there is no connection possible from ubuntu... now I'm using windows xp for
connecting on to web....

It gives you detailed information about your system, including your modem.

This is what I got from System Info tool about my modem.... Is it
sufficient....
