Installing motherboard CD stuff

Asked by Spaceman

I've never used Linux before and i want to replace Windows with Ubuntu. When i install Windows I install Windows first and then I install everything from my motherboard CD. When I install Ubuntu should I do it the same way or does Ubuntu come with everything I need for my motherboard?

Thank you for your question.

With Ubuntu don't need the motherboard CD. Ubuntu install all you need to start to work.

Welcome to the wonderfull world of Linux and Free Software.
You don't need to pley the disk-jokkey anymore!

Ubuntu comes along with everything you need to support your hardware (exept
some exotic hardware mostly used in high end server systems, e.g. some scsi
raid controllers). So no need anymore for reboot orgies to set up a system as
in windows.

refards,
