Open a terminal and install the package change directory where the package was saved...

In short please open a Terminal from the menu Applications → Accessories → Terminal and type:

cd where_you_have_saved_package_dir

sudo dpkg -i sun-java6-jre_6-16-0ubuntu1.8.04_all.deb

-- give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter
