how to uninstall through wine

Asked by Jeff Felberbaum

I just tried installing my dv cam's original software / drivers through wine,
and adter repeated crashes of what seemed to be the most important
required portions of the installation, am left with a useless vid. editor
that I would like to remove.

I threw away it's on-screen icon, and then went to
Applications > Wine > Programs > Pixela > ImageMixer > ImageMixer Ver. 1.5 for Sony

...nowhere was an option to uninstall. Tried add/remove and synaptic, but can't find it there.

When I installed, the install wizard told me it was putting the files in
my "C" drive, "program files" -- which I haven't known how to find since getting rid of
Windows XP a few months ago. Would like to uninstall, not to mention to know a bit more
where things go when Wine is involved.

Thanks

JF

I don't have wine, but by reading this:

http://www.winehq.org/site/docs/wineusr-guide/index

I understand your C drive is here:

~/.wine/drive_c/

Is it ok?

Hi Cesare,

I think that makes sense, but what do I do with this information?

Thank you.

Wasn't this your question:

my "C" drive, "program files" -- which I haven't known how to find since getting rid of
Windows XP a few months ago. Would like to uninstall, not to mention to know a bit more
where things go when Wine is involved.

Additionally, in the link I gave you, chapter 4.1 it is written:

The standard way to uninstall things is for the application to provide an uninstaller, usually registered with the "Add/Remove Programs" control panel applet. To access the Wine equivalent, run the uninstaller program (it is located in the programs/uninstaller/ directory in a Wine source directory) in a terminal:

$ uninstaller

So what do you need help with exactly? You click the program you want to uninstall, hit uninstall, and follow the uninstall wizard just like you would in Windows.

Can you help with this problem?
