nvidia restricted drivers does not show up in jockey; i.e. nvidia ion

Asked by Mark Cariaga

I just want to know if there's a better way to install the 185.xx drivers other than going to cli.. Currently I do not have the time to go through terminal and install the driver manually.. I'm currently using 180.44 from synaptic.

So you don't have time to go through terminal. But you have time to post a question on a forum and wait for an answer. Doesnt that seem strange to you?

Here is a guide:

Gotcha

All I can suggest is doing it the normal way, it takes like 2 minutes.

nvidia restricted driver still does not show up on the gui....but works fine using cli.. I was able to install the 185.18 driver using the how to from the ubuntu forums:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1125400&highlight=nvidia+ion

this also fixes computer from crashes when opening power management.

thanks actionparsnip for having time reading through my question. :) kudos to Ian for coming up with the how to...much better than instruction from the nvidia site.
