Thanks for your question Ted.

I'm sorry that Ubuntu was not able to fullfill your requirements. I do understand that Microsoft Windows might be the easier way for you to go.

Please respect that this is a Ubuntu technical support tracker. We're unable to tell you why you're unable to boot your windows CD, since it clearly has nothing to do with your recent Ubuntu Installation.

You might however ask in a Windows support forum, e.g. http://forums.techguy.org/.

Please do not forget also to close your previous question: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/7647, since you do not need help with that anymore. So it would be fair to not let volunteer supporters jump into the question.

Given that booting a CD or DVD occurs prior to booting any hard drive (if you have it set that way), there is no way that any installed OS can prevent a cd from booting even it wanted to. If your pc is set to boot the cd drive first and it won't, you either have a bad drive, bad cd or other hardware problem. I would suggest trying to boot other bootable CDs to see if any of them will boot. If not, you have a drive problem. If so, you have a CD problem.

There are many ways to remove ubuntu or any other os. Reformat the drive is the easiest. If the windows cd won't boot try booting the ubuntu live cd. You can run gparted to reformat the drive or delete partitions.

Can you help with this problem?
