You can use Wine which is an applications layer that behaves as if you were using Windows, OR you can find alternatives to your applications from the Linux world. Since Wine isn't perfect I recommend you to start looking for software found in native Linux instead of using Windows applications. Is there any particular application you want to install?

And, if there is no Linux version available for your software you can always consider to install Virtualbox. In this program you can run any kind of OS you want and your FULL CD will work in it.

While it is possible to run Total Commander in Wine, I suggest that you find an alternative to it.

Note that in linux we tend to use package managers to handle all the download&install&update and these package maangers tend to have search tools to help find equivalent software that's designed to run in linux rather than Windows. Often the software is much better and even if something's missing or you want a feature added then then devs sometimes write it in for you - not always, just sometimes but it's not the kind of service you could get from a Windows package :)

Can you help with this problem?
