Why does it seem that there are hardly any new package updates for jaunty compared to Intrepid?

Why does it seem that there are hardly any new package updates for jaunty compared to Intrepid? I think I've only had maybe 15 updates over the last month.

Updates are avoided if possible and only released if needed for security
reasons or to fix bugs. The fact that there are so few updates is most
likely a good sign, but more will come.
