Openoffice Writer lost or missing after upgrading to Feisty

I use Edgy Eft for sometime and upgraded to Feisty just before release in april.
I use the distribution as a desktop system, with internet access, firefox, thunderbird, etc.

I used the openoffice suite and after the upgrade the Writer component of Openoffice was missing. The components that continued were Impress, Calc and the database, but no writer.

I wonder why that happened and I tried to install via synaptic just this component but I received a error message that the package was not available at the repository.

Is this commom?

Not at all.
I guess the package you tried retrieving was openoffice.org-writer?
Perhaps its a problem with the mirror you are using. To check/change the mirror, in Synaptic go to Settings -> Repositories or launch from the desktop Menu->System->Administration->Software Sources
