Ubuntu software purpose is installing and removing applications.
The window of installed apps. Is empty (impossible to remove apps.)
The window of proposed apps is almost empty except "choice of author"

No alternative to Ubuntu software is proposée.

Thks

Pierre

Please do not reformat the output, but copy/paste it as it is.

Try the following commands in a terminal window:

killall -v gnome-software
rm ~/.local/share/gnome-software/*
sudo apt-get install --reinstall gnome-software

and then start ubuntu software again.
Does this help?
