Tony Hartnett ; Hello -

As disco is End_Of_Life
'Ubuntu 19.04 (Disco Dingo) was the 30th release of Ubuntu, support ended January 2020. see !eol and
               https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-security-announce/2020-January/005263.html"
one must do an alternate to release upgrade:
 See https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EOLUpgrades

Or (easier) do a final full backup, wipe the install off the drive and do a clean install of Focal (Ubuntu 20.04). Focal is LTS and supported until April 2025. You can restore your user data from your backups.

Tony Hartnett; Hey -

Quite welcome - however as actionparsnip points out - will be much quicker and less error prone to do a clean fresh install. It Is a long way and a lot of bandwidth to get up_2_date on your current install.

-easy does it best-

Thanks. It was really beyond my skill level, so I asked my daughter to look at it. Apparently my two previous updates had errors and only partially loaded. So I was running parts of both somehow. And my repositories couldn't be found by anything. She spent the day with it, had the help of someone from this site, and eventually got everything cleared out, rebuilt, and installed the new version. She enjoyed the puzzle.
