ubuntu 20.04 willnot boot

Asked by leon antoniadis

It is a dual boot 20.04 and 18.04 as my printer would not work with 20.04 and the virtual box is not available for 20.04. After I was able to install the virtualbox for 19.10 I opened gparted and without thinking I deleted the 18.04 partition. The result is a nice brick.
Please advise.
Thanks

Are there files on the hard disk which you need to keep?
If not, then I suggest a plain new installation.

Which printer do you have that doesn't work with Ubuntu 20.04?
And why do you claim that virtualbox is not available for Ubuntu 20.04? There are packages in the Ubuntu repositories!

 Thank you for your answer
The printer is HP desk jet ink advantage 3636.The hplip was able to see the printer would not join.
Was working all right with 18.04
I have always downloaded the virtualbox from Oracle and they stop at 19.10.
I have tried reinstallation but cannot reach the boot order.(Black screen after the Dell logo). The laptop is a Dell inspiron 15 3000

Can you enter the BIOS setup (probably by pressing F2 early during boot)? It should be possible to temporarily change the boot order in that dialogue.

 Thank you very much.
F2 worked. (When I bought this laptop I was told that bios could be reached by pressing escape and it worked till now).
Thanks
