Printer USB connection make restart impossible, black screen

Asked by Michel Bégin

I connected a Samsung xPressM2885FW via USB cable and asked to restart for complete install. Once the USB cable in the restart stopped at the shutdown. Than the computer could not restart. After unplugging the USB cable I had to make a few power button shutdown than it finally restarted. This happened three times. This printer is a wi-fi able and is used in my home network. I wonder if that has to do something with the pronblem Apart from that I have no problems with my new installation so far.

Thank you in advance for your reply

Are there any options in the BIOS for the USB ports which are useful

I connected to the front panel USB ports.

I need to try connecting to the Motherboard USB ports in the back, maybe
it is the reason for trouble.

Otherwise, I don't know yet I will check the BIOS and let you know.

Many thanks

Have you tried a different USB port, not the one directly above, a different bank of ports. Does it make any difference?

No  I did not try anything else, because the printer did show up as a
network available printer.

So I need to read more about everything. I have experienced a few
bizarre events like loosing the video suddenly the screen acted as if
the Motherboard had a defect and I could not see anything, after a few
restart I got the image back and since that moment everything seems to
be OK..

So thanks for everything. I will do my studies and read more about how
everything works in this nes environment for me.
