Is the PowerPC version of 16.04 still being supported?

Asked by Nicolás Colla

As far as I knew, all versions of Ubuntu 16.04 were receiving support and security updates until 2021. However, when running "ubuntu-support-status", I get the following:

--------------
Support status summary of 'iBookG3':

You have 0 packages (0.0%) that can not/no-longer be downloaded
You have 820 packages (100.0%) that are unsupported
--------------

Is Ubuntu 16.04 still receiving security updates on 32-bit PowerPC machines?

see https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/xenial

Architectures and builds for Xenial
amd64
arm64
armhf
i386
ppc64el
s390x
powerpc(unofficial)

PowerPC does not have an "official" status, but receives the same kind of support as all other architectures.

I assume that is is the reason for your output.
