interactive whiteboard software

Asked by sandra mclean

this is an unusual request,
i work as a teacher, and would like to learn about and play with whiteboard software on my
laptop to practice some presentations etc, it helps make bad weather days more interesting
especially when the children can play too.
does anyone know of any software for interactive whiteboards that i can down load onto
my laptop, and use in a similar way.
my system is currently 'hungry heron'
many thanks
sandra

Most if not all white companies have their own proprietary software.

The only company that I know of that offers Linux software for their boards is SmartTech.

If it is another manufacturer, please could you supply that too us.

thanks for your prompt reply,
i've tried smart boards before, but you have to belong to a school that already owns the software,
even though i work with schools , we haven't reached that stage yet,
it would be fantastic if someone at ubuntu was feeling extra creative and could write us some
bespoke software especially for our laptops??!
thanks
sandra

You are best looking at people and projects in or around this field rather than a total OS provider such as the Ubuntu projects. Some related projects and a search tip are supplied below for you.
